Child Labor: A Daily Tragedy
Introduction
Worldwide, 218 million children between 5 and 17 years old are in employment. They are working in dangerous conditions instead of going to school. In Africa alone, there are 62.1 million kids working in these factories. In the world, there are 160 million children working in dangerous factories. That is almost 11% of all the children in the world. In 1900, 18 percent of all American workers were under the age of 16.
